All Things Wild Starting with Mr. Valentine's Animal Show for inspiration,
campers will work on wild-animal themed craft projects and creating wild animal-themed
poetry throughout the week. |
Drama: The workshop will include comedy, drama and improvisation with a variety
of scenes/skits/monologues; scriptwriting and acting techniques are covered, including
acting in different emotional tones. Daily. |

Space Exploration Campers will learn about the solar system and beyond with
fun workshops to learn about nearby planets and how people are exploring these faraway
places. The week will be topped off with a visit to Jet Propulsion Laboratory where
rocket engines are made for NASA.

Dance: Campers will learn different styles of dance with a dance instructor.

CAMPING & ADVENTURE WEEK: CAMPING TRIP TO LAKE CACHUMA

Precious Stones & All Things Old Campers will make crystals and learn about
things that happened long before they were born! There will be lots of history-related
crafts projects, and campers will choose a historical person to research. A trip
to the Natural History Museum will tie it all together!

Soccer: Basic to intermediate instruction; focus on teamwork and strategies
as well as individual techniques. Drilling the basics of soccer. Daily.

Environment Awareness Campers will look at the environment, close to home
and around the world. Find out why water is so important, what happens to trash
and how to contribute to a healthier planet. The trip to Manhattan Beach will be
more than just fun, but a chance to improve the beach environment (could include
a sandcastle building competition!).

Nature: Campers will learn about conservation and recycling, and plant a
garden. Projects will focus on nature. Daily.

Summer in the Southwest California is the land of the Gold Rush, cowboys
and outlaws. This week learn about the “Wild West” and how people survived before
LA became such a big city. Campers will write stories and skits and wind up the
week on horseback!

Music: Beginning to advanced instruction. Guest performers and instructors
will give campers lessons in various instruments and vocals. Daily.

Zoo Week All creatures great and small is the focus of this fun week as campers
work on animal-themed poems and crafts. Zoo-themed quizzes and games will make everything
lively and a visit to the LA Zoo will give campers a chance to see some real animals
up close.
|
Art: Campers will do wax sculpting, drawing and painting, pastels; still
lifes. Daily.

8 |
Water Fun Campers will stay cool this week with lots of water activities
both inside and outside the classroom. They’ll build a giant water slide onto the
athletic field and conduct water-based experiments. They’ll all get even wetter
when they go on a field trip to Raging Waters.

Basketball: Available for advanced Elementary School players only. Includes
instruction in intermediate to advanced techniques. Drilling the basics, working
on team strategies, conditioning and strength training; scrimmages.

Around the World in a Week The final week of summer campers take a trip around
the world when they learn about the foods, music and lifestyles of people from different
countries—each camper chooses a place to learn about. The week ends in a big Food
Fair everyone is invited to. |
